Costa Rica

Warner Quesada Elizondo

THE INTERVIEW

What does coffee mean to you and your country?

For me coffee has always been very important, I dedicated my whole life to it since I was a child.  My parents were small producers, and it was the way our parents raised us. I have great memories mixed with a lot of work but they taught us that doing things well with love and dedication everything goes well.

For our country coffee is part of its history and where part of development was forged, currently it remains an important activity in our economy and has been part of the development of many Costa Ricans in their lives.

What is your favorite place in your country?

There are many beautiful places here, I like the place where I live. All our country is special, we can find different climates and scenarios a few kilometers away.

What is your history with illycaffè?

It is an interesting story; everything began with a circumstantial greeting with Francisco Mena of Exclusive Coffees who introduced us to illycaffè. They have always recognized the effort that we made daily in the production of coffee.

How does the perfect coffee grow?

I have always believed that the perfect coffee is the one that is consumed and desired a little more.

How do you drink coffee?

In my country we use to drink coffee “chorreado” that is the one I drink it at home. I also use French press and espresso, however I have had the opportunity to consume it in many more ways.
